The Technical Director of the Orienteering World Federation, the Swede Björn Persson, will look at the venues where the sport could be held
from Thursday to Saturday in Cali, in the framework of the World Games to be played in the Capital of Valle, from July 25th to August 4th, 2013. The leader will be accompanied by Fernando Gómez, Technical Director of the Colombian Orienteering Federation, Pascual Guerrero, President of the Executive Committee of the games and Jose Luis Echeverry, General Director.The venues presented by the organization are: De la Salud Park of the State, De la Salud Park of the City, Yanaconas Club, Cañasgordas Club and Coomeva Los Andes Club. He will also visit another possible venue within the city perimeter that could be adapted for this championship.
After looking, evaluating and reviewing the proposed venues by the IF, the one with best technical and logistical conditions will be selected.
The decisions will be presented in the great assembly of the IWGA to be held in Dubai from 26th to 30th April at the Sportaccord Convention.
In August, the Presidents of the 31 World Federations affiliated to the Games will be in Cali - “the Sport Capital of America” - in the greatest technical meeting of the year.
